Evaluation of Energy Management Solutions for Outdoor Moultrie Mobile Camera Series

This project, funded by EBSCO Industries Inc., focused on extending the operational battery life of the current Moultrie Mobile line of game cameras. In order to do so, three specific strategies are employed:
  1. determining if hardware or operational strategy changes could improve battery life,
  2. determining if an alternative battery chemistry would improve battery life without an unacceptable increase in unit cost or unacceptable interference of cellular reception and,
  3. identifying on-board and/or rapid recharge mechanisms (i.e. solar photovoltaic systems) that would improve battery life or enhance operation within the range of acceptable unit cost increases.
